In 2012, the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) began conducting HCAHPS surveys, later expanding to include Emergency Department, Clinicians and Groups, and various Outpatient services.

By 2015, with nearly 50 hospitals participating, ICAHN's manual survey process had reached its capacity, prompting a collaboration with AdCo Advertising Agency to develop Survey Solutions by ICAHN. This partnership led to a fully automated patient satisfaction survey system, allowing rural hospitals to efficiently collect and analyze feedback across multiple service lines and survey modes.
